TITAN GODDESS - A WINNER at GREAT YARMOUTH

Titan Goddess finally broke her maiden tag under a fine ride by our apprentice, Kevin Lundie. She is a very game filly but things have not worked out for her in previous races but yesterday all went according to plan with the filly getting a toe into the race from the two confirmed front runners. She was very game when asked for her effort and galloped all the way to the line seeing of her nearest pursuer by a neck. This was Kevin's second win for the yard and his 4th for this year.
We hope she will progress a little further and her positive attitude should certainly give her a chance.

MUSICAL COMEDY - 4th at WINDSOR

Musical Comedy ran very well at Windsor last night recording a 4th place position. He jumped well and was in front but his jockey, Jim Crowley, was able to take a small pull and get cover behind the proven front runners. He was beginning to make a move 1f out but met with a bit of trouble which stopped his momentum but he ran on again. Although there was some rain at Windsor the ground was a bit quicker than ideal for him and so it was a good effort. He is now qualified for the final in two weeks time and so that will be his immediate target.

JUST MAYBE - A WINNER at KEMPTON

Just Maybe broke his maiden tag at the second time of asking at Kempton yesterday under a positive ride from Robert Winston. The plan had been to track the leaders but Robert said there was not enough pace and so he was more forward on him. Just Maybe had been green on his debut at Windsor but he was much better this time and had clearly learnt from the experience. He travelled well and was sent to the front with 2f to go and stuck his head out in game fashion. He has a bit of knee action and we went to Kempton as they had added wax to the surface and it was on the soft side of standard.
Looking around the parade ring before the race it looked as though there were four horses who could feature in the finish with Just Maybe one of them and it was great to see him get his head in front. He is a half brother to a fine race filly we trained, La Fortunata, and he has been a joy to train from day one. As with most 2yos he has had his small setbacks but he has the scope to improve and we look forward to seeing him progress on the racecourse.
The photo shows some of the winning connections with (from l to r) Dennis Cooper, Hugo (his lad), the jockey and Tony Wideson.
