Chapter and Verse 3rd

Chapter and Verse came third on Saturday at Wolverhampton. As there were no handicaps for him over 7f we decided to run him in the conditions race over the same distance. He remains in good form and we will keep him on the go and look for the handicaps for him, although they are few and far between.

Princess Cammie 3rd

Princess Cammie ran her usual determined self at Lingfield on Friday. Unfortunately she could not quite peg back the leaders and just failed by three quarters of a length. Although she is no superstar we do like her attitude and she always gives her best. We will look for another race for her in the next week or so as she has come out of her last race well.

Red Somerset 2nd

Red Somerset made a valiant effort to record his second win in two days but went down to an inform Paphos at Lingfield today. The winner was always travelling better than Red who couldn't peg him back and maybe the race came just too soon. He will go out in the paddock tomorrow with his mate, Ducal, and should enjoy rolling in the snow and mud. The photograph of the two of them was taken recently before the snow arrived!

Red Somerset A WINNER

Red Somerset recorded the 18th win if his career at Wolverhampton yesterday. He always had the opposition in his sights and was sent for home at the 3f marker and quickly asserted his authority on the opposition. Although he is a 10yo he retains his enthusiasm for racing. We will see how he comes out of today's race and if he is ok he will run at Lingfield tomorrow. We will keep running him providing he stays sound and also while he retains his love if racing.

Valdaw - A WINNER

Valdaw won the first race of his career at Kempton yesterday. He had been running consistently but also ran into a couple of improving types. He was given a good ride by Eddie Ahern who was always tracking the early pace and sent Valdaw for home in the straight.
He was also our first winner of 2013 having had a number of second placed efforts from Chapter and Verse and Princess Cammie.
The photograph shows Valdaw in the Winner's enclosure with his jockey together with Heidi, who looks after him, and Denise Murphy representing the owner, David Spratt, who was not able to attend.

Happy New Year

We would like to wish all our owners, followers and suppliers a Healthy and Happy New Year.
Having had a record 2012 we look forward to 2013 with excitement. We should have 19 new stables built by the end of January taking the total to 36. Many horses are on their winter break and they should be back in shortly. These together with the new 2yos should take our stable numbers to 28 for the beginning of the turf season.
The key, as always, will be to keep them fit and healthy.

20 Winners in 2012

Kakatosi gave us our 20th winner of the year on 27th December. This represents a further improvement on last year when we had 9 winners. More importantly the yard's strike rate of winners/runners was 15% which for a trainer is probably the most important statistic. This puts the yard in the top decile of all yards in the UK and we believe this represents the quality of our facilities and the experience and care given by our members of staff.
