WINNER -ROSS MOOR

Ross Moor won at Sandown on wednesday evening, his second win at the course. After 2 furlongs it looked as though our chance had gone as there was no pace in the race. However, some speed was injected by Patrick Hills and this suited our horse. Our jockey rode a cracking race bringing Ross up the outer and it looked as though Joburg had got first run on us. However, Andrea Atzeni galvanised Ross for a final effort to get his head in front on the line. As I said in my blog last sunday we needed the ground and the race to be run to suit. Both went in our favour and we have entered Ross for a similar race next wednesday evening.

ENTRIES w/b 19th July

Ross Moor is our only entry this week in a "kids" race at Sandown on wednesday. We were disappointed last time at Doncaster but he slipped on the bend and was not travelling therafter. However, he appears none the worse for his exploits and we are hopeful he will go close if the ground and the running of the race goes to plan!! His last win was at Sandown and it is one of our favourite tracks.

Recent Results w/e 18th July

Sweet Gale: 5th at Leicester on thursday. Sweetie went off the 9/2 fav for the 7f handicap. Although she ran her race it looks as though she is now in the grip of the handicapper. Also, it looks as though she did not quite see out the trip in this higher grade. We will probably look to bring her back to 6f next time.
Rock Anthem: 4th at Bath on thursday. Another good run from "Rockie" who we believe was a shade unlucky. The horse on his inside reared just before the gates opened and Rockie was distracted. He missed the break, which is precisely what we didn't want, which cost him two lengths and he was not beaten that far in the end. However, he has come out of the race well and we will look for another opportunity for him.
Trempari travelled down to Bath but we pulled him out when the groound went against him. The Stewards changed the going to Good to Firm and I overheard one of our top jockeys telling one of the stewards that it was GOOD TO SOFT. Needless to say we were swayed by a top jockey's opinion rather than listen to other views! Integrity in racing should extend to description of the going!!!

Rock Anthem came third at Epsom on 9th July. He ran his race but there was not enough pace for him so we were pleased all things considered. he has come out of the race well and he is entered up for Bath next thursday.
